Application field of calcium carbide:

(2) When heating powdered calcium carbide and nitrogen, the reaction generates calcium cyanamide, namely lime nitrogen
(3) Calcium carbide itself can be used as desulfurizer in iron and steel industry
(4) To produce polyvinyl chloride (PVC), calcium carbide method is used to produce polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Calcium carbide (CaC2) is used to generate acetylene (C2H2) when it meets water. Acetylene and hydrogen chloride (HCl) are synthesized to produce vinyl chloride monomer (CH2=CHCl), and then vinyl chloride is polymerized to produce polyvinyl chloride - [CH2-CHCI] n -.
